Serial Killers: Monsters Among Us

 A serial killer is a person who killed more than a person in separate time and place. Their minds functions differently from ours. There are many serial killers in history. But some of them really stood out because of how gruesome they are. They made people all over the world curious about their life, mind, crimes and victims.

Ted Bundy in an American serial killer. He raped and killed many women. He confessed that he murdered 30 young women. He had an IQ score of 136. That is higher than average human being. He had a psychology degree. Using his smartness and knowledge of psychology he could easily lure his victims. He often used to visit the corpses of his victims and exploited their bodies sexually. He kept heads of his few victims in his apartment. After he got arrested by police he dramatically escaped and committed 3 more murders. Then got arrested again. He was executed in electric chair. Jeffrey Dahmer:

The most infamous serial killer of America. He sexually offended, killed, dismembered and ate his victims. He killed 17 men. All of them were Asian and black people. Because at that time white people were too racist. So it was easier to lure them just by behaving politely with them. He had an IQ of 148. He was intelligent and good looking. So he could convince people easily. One of his victims escaped and he convinced the police that the victim was his boyfriend and the police escorted them back to Jeffrey’s apartment. He got arrested because his another victim escaped and went to police. When police raided his home, they found 15 skulls, bones, heart, human meat, 3 bodies preserved in chemicals. He casually confessed his crimes, described how he did those. He said that he wanted to make people zombies who would never leave him. He confessed to drill holes in alive victims’ head and fill with chemicals.  He was sentenced lifetime imprisonment. But he was killed by one of prisoner. For more details click here

Elizabeth Bathory:  Elizabeth is the serial killer with highest kill count. She was a Hungarian woman of upper class. She used her status to lure young girls to her castle. Poor girls used to go in hope to get employed there. But they used to get killed. She confessed to kill more than 650 women. She killed these girls to do satanic rituals. She used to bathe in the blood of girls. She believed by doing this she could stay young forever. She also ate those girls.

One day local authorities raided he castle and founded dismembered body of more than 200 women. They found several girls dying there. Elizabeth later died in a house arrest.

Pedro Lopez:  Pedro was a Columbian serial killer and rapist. His mother was in prostitution. He got abducted and raped as a teen. These had a negative effect on his mind. He confessed to kill 300 young girls. He led police to 58 graves of girls aged 9-12. He claimed to kill 3 girls a week. He was arrested but got released for good behavior after 14 years. Then again got arrested for murdering a girl. The court declared him insane and was held in asylum. After 4 years he was released. Then he started murdering again. Now he is a wanted criminal. These serial killers still make people wonder are there still killers like them roaming among us picking their next target? Nobody has the answer. All we can do is to stay cautious.
