Artificial Intelligence: Beginning of a New Era?

Many of us have come across the term “Artificial Intelligence” or “AI”. But most of us don’t know what artificial intelligence actually is or only have a vague idea about it. So what is artificial intelligence (AI)

What is Artificial Intelligence (AI)?

The simulation of human intelligence in machines            

programmed to think like humans, act like humans,

and talk like humans—simply put, 

it can do almost 

everything a human can do—is artificial intelligence (AI).



Types of AI:

There are mainly two types of AI on the basis of capabilities and functionality.


Type-1 is AI based on capabilities. AI type-1 is divided into three types-


         

The type of AI which is capable of surpassing human intelligence by 

         developing its own think skills and manifesting cognitive skills


         

The type of AI which can understand/learn/do any intellectual task that

         a human being can do.

         Examples- Chatbots, autonomous vehicles etc.



The type of AI that is specified to handle a singular or limited task.

           Examples- Facial recognition, recommendation engines etc.


Type-2 is AI based on functionalities. AI type-2  is divided into four types-


The type of AI which will be capable of doing everything independently

without any human influence, and will have their own

sense, power and understanding.

Examples– semi-sentient tesla bot, GPT 3 etc.


The AI which has cognitive understanding which involves the ability to

think about abstract mental states of itself and others.

Example- AI which can understand emotions. 


The type of AI which has the ability to store previous data and can make

better decisions by using that data

Example- self-driving cars.

The type of AI which merely reacts to current situations and cannot rely upon
recalled data to make decisions. It is the most basic type of AI.
Examples- Spam filters, chess playing supercomputers.

The Evolution of AI:

Day by day, as the world advances, it

becomes more technology-based. Technology has made life a lot easier for humans. AI is one of those technologies that is making a difference in every aspect of life. AI is advancing quickly with new discoveries and breakthroughs with the help of data science.

 


The industries which AI is changing:

  • Transportation-
The number of autonomous/self-driven vehicles are increasing day
by day because of AI


  • Healthcare-

AI is already a game changer in the healthcare sector. By the help

of AI, diseases are more accurately and quickly diagnosed, and

drug discovery is sped up


  • Manufacturing Industries-

In industries, AI robots are now working alongside humans doing

complex and risky tasks


  • E-commerce-
E-commerce has been using AI for quite a long time now. AI helps
businesses to provide more customized product recommendations
and also carries out customer  interactions by the help of chatbots,
thus helps reduce the frustration rate and also decreases the
bounce rate

Aside from these, the existence of AI can be seen in almost every industry that we can think of. Though we don’t know what the future has in store for us, what we know for sure is that AI improves the life quality of humans in every possible way and also eases their difficulties.

  A serial killer is a person who killed more than a person in separate time and place. Their minds functions differently from ours. There are many serial killers in history. But some of them really stood out because of how gruesome they are. They made people all over the world curious about their life, mind, crimes and victims.
